San Diego in October

“Ah, September! You are the doorway to the season that awakens my soul… but I must confess that I love you only because you are a prelude to my beloved October.”

-Peggy Horton

San Diego is such a beautiful city with so much to see and so much to do!

October is nearly picture-perfect in San Diego. The weather is just the beginning, with clear skies and moderate temperatures. In the tourism off-season, you can enjoy all the sights without elbowing your way through the crowds.

Each month I have special fun events I want to show you so that you get the most out of this beautiful city!

How to Celebrate Halloween in 2020 During Covid-19

Halloween us outdoors with masks, right? It might be the most normal thing we do all year.

In case it’s not, here is a list of Halloween activities sure to provide plenty of hair-raising and eerie delights. Check out some ways to get spooked and celebrate everyone’s favorite October holiday.

1) Decorate Your House in a Big Way

Celebrate Halloween with pumpkins and lights and other spooky sights. Pick up black and orange lights. Craft spooky decor and more!

2) Spooky Movie Marathon

Toss some candy corn in your popcorn and get ready for some spooky stories. What is your favorite Halloween flick?

3) Monster Mash Halloween Dance Party

Shake your “boo thang” and download a spooky playlist from spotify 😉

4) You’ve Been Boo’d

Spread some Halloween cheer with this random act of kindness. Drop a pumpkin spice treat or something that’s cinnamon and sweet at your neighbor’s front door.

5) Weird Science

Be your own mad scientist, with potions galore! Use kitchen staples and household items to mux up some Vampire slime and so much more.

6) Halloween Hunt

Make up a tresure hunt and scour the scene for creepy crawly items.

7) Eerie Egg Hunt

Try a glow in the dark egg hunt!

8) Ghoulish Goodies

Whip up some homemade Halloween treats that are sure to put a spell on you!

9) Drive-by Tick-or-Treating

Coordinate with your neighborhood and have folks drive by like those Covid Birthday parades, but with candy.

10) Social Distance Trick-or-Treating

Leave candy at the end of your driveway and wave at those passing by.

11) Neighborhood Spook Fest
