San Diego Spring Break Family Fun

 

We live in San Diego! People come from all over to come here during Spring Break! We are the lucky ones who get to live here year round.

That being said, your kids are out of school. It is Spring Break. What do you do with them?

You could check out any of San Diego’s classic tourist attractions:

SeaWorld San Diego: which has its SEVEN SEAS FOOD FESTIVAL right now. Foodies and craft beer aficionados will love SeaWorld’s Seven Seas Food Festival, featuring craft beer from favorite local breweries, plus fresh international cuisine infused with local, sustainable ingredients and unique signature flavors from around the world. 

The San Diego Zoo

or the San Diego Zoo Safari Park: which features the BUTTERFLY JUNGLE. Walk leisurely among butterflies of all colors, shapes, and sizes, and learn more about these remarkable winged creatures. Through April 15

Hit the BEACH! Spring Break equals beach, right? Well, San Diego offers many different beaches with great activities, eateries and more nearby! Soak up that San Diego sun!

The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch. Experience 50 “Acres of Awesome” in this floral paradise where vibrant Tecolote Ranunculus flowers adorn the rolling hillsides and the fields are blazing with roses, orchids, sweet pea blossoms and a greenhouse full of poinsettias. Through May 13

Later this month you can check out Coronado Flower Show. It is the largest tented flower show in the nation. Exhibits are placed inside tents surrounding a central gazebo, which becomes the stage for continuous entertainment, announcements, and trophy presentations. April 21-22

Children’s Nature Retreat. Encounter more than 100 domesticated livestock from around the globe and see interactive presentations at this serene, ranch-style retreat. Open daily.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream.” by San Diego Civic Youth Ballet. Follow the romantic adventures and misadventures of two pairs of mortal lovers, a mystical king and queen, a man transformed into a donkey and a mischievous fairy named Puck. School show on April 4; Scout show on April 5. April 6-8

San Marcos Grand Spring Festival. Carnival rides, live performances, yummy eats, and vendors. April 8

Baseball! The season is here!

Don’t forget Balboa Park! Balboa Park is home to 17 museums, beautiful gardens, art venues, trails, and more! Perfect to walk around and check out the Spanish Renaissance-inspired architecture. Easy to pack a lunch and sit around the fountain or eat at one of the restaurants located at the park. 

 

Want to travel a bit during the break? Check out the big parks! The Grand Canyon. Yosemite. The Great Smoky Mountains. America is full of so many natural wonders that you can drive to!

 

Whatever you do this Spring Break, have fun and be safe! Get those kids outside and enjoy your time together!
